1. Changes to TIH Content Categories
Please be informed that there will be updates to the content categories on TIH in 2024. These changes are to streamline and better focus our resources on enhancing the more widely used and in-demand services and features of the TIH platform.
The following content categories will be discontinued:
- On 3 April 2024, the Deals category will be discontinued.
- In the 3rd quarter of 2024, the Cruises, Venues and Walking Trails categories will be discontinued. While the Bars & Clubs category will also be discontinued, the listings will be re-categorised with Bars under Food & Beverages and Clubs under Attractions.
More information will be shared when available.
With these changes to the content categories, TIH will be discontinuing the related categories' APIs and making other related API changes. If you are using these APIs to contribute or extract content from TIH, please assess the impact and make the necessary updates to your application.
What you need to do:
- Assess the impact of the API changes relating to the discontinued categories for the APIs you are using in your application
- Modify and test your application to remove the discontinued categories
- Deploy changes
Kindly ensure your application is updated to avoid any issues.
1.1 Appended below is the list of APIs that will be discontinued:
a) Deals User and Provider APIs will be discontinued on 3 April 2024.

- Search Deals By POI
- Get Deal Types
- Deals Provider APIs
- Create, Update, Suspend Deals
b) Content User APIs for extracting content and Content Provider APIs for contributing content will be discontinued in the 3rd quarter of 2024.

- Search Cruises By Keyword or UUIDs
- Search Bars and Clubs By Keyword or UUIDs
- Search Venues By Keyword or UUIDs
- Search Walking Trails By Keyword or UUIDs
- Search Walking Trails Details By UUID
- Content Provider APIs
- Create, Update, Delete Cruises
- Create, Update, Delete Bars and Clubs
- Create, Update, Delete Venues
- Create, Update, Delete Walking Trails and Walking Trails Details

1.2 Other related API changes to note:
In the 3rd quarter of 2024 when the changes are effected, the following related APIs will not be able to retrieve listings from the discontinued categories (Bars & Clubs, Cruises, Venues, Walking Trails):
- Content User APIs
- Enhanced Navigation APIs
- Recommendation Engine API
- Media User APIs
- Media Provider APIs
- Create and Update Libraries
- Create and Update Images, Videos, Documents
Changes to the "dataset" and "category" parameters for the above APIs:
- These values relating to the discontinued categories will no longer be supported: [bars_clubs, cruises, venues, walking_trails]
- The supported values when the API changes are effected will be: [accommodation, attractions, events, food_beverages, precincts, shops, tours]
2. Changes to the "categoryDescription" field value of Events category
On 3 April 2024, the "categoryDescription" field value of Events category returned in API response will be changed from "Events" to "Events - Leisure".
- There will be no change to the "dataset" field value of Events category which remains as "events".
3. Discontinuation of Itinerary Sharing and 3rd Party Information Sources APIs
This is a reminder that the Itinerary Sharing* and 3rd Party Information Sources APIs will be discontinued on 31 January 2024. Appended below is the list of APIs that will be discontinued:
- Create Itinerary
- Update Itinerary
- Delete Itinerary
- View Itinerary
- Leave Itinerary
- List Itineraries
- Add Participants
- Remove Participants
b) 3rd Party Information Sources APIs
- Public Transport - Bus & Fare
- Money Changers
- National Parks & Park Connectors
* Note that the other Recommend Itineraries API of Itinerary Planner service will continue to be available for use after 31 January 2024.
